The combination of all Speedo’s innovation and technology is present in the Tri Super Elite wetsuit, putting it firmly into the top performance bracket for competitive triathletes. It incorporates extensive but selective use of Yamamoto 40 cell neoprene panels to give great flexibility in shoulder, underam and leg areas. To improve bloodflow, the thinner neoprene benefits from a titanium coated laminate to maintain body heat.
Speedo have also used their high compression panels around the body to help prevent muscle fatigue and the seamless Aerodome sandwich construction helps with stability in the water. There are also plenty of small but important design features, such as using debossed neoprene around the shoulder and back seam, to improve the range of motion.
This is one of Speedo’s most popular open water wetsuits for triathletes, featuring a wide range of design elements to help performance. The whole suit is constructed from neoprene that benefits from an SCS coating to reduce water friction as much as possible, with an internal laminated polyester and nylon material. Yamamoto Aerodome panels are also used in key areas to provide ideal buoyancy for competition racing.
On the Tri Elite there are also a variety of special panels such as those on the upper leg for best body position, ribbing on the lower leg and super stretch areas where higher levels of bend are required.
At the mid-price level the Speedo Tri Pro caters for the triathlete with some experience who wants to find extra performance. A key feature of this wetsuit is the use of Vortex stroke panel technology used on the forearms, which expand during the pulling swim stroke, giving a better hold on the water, increasing drag. The panels then contract in the stroke recovery phase. You can also find the use of Yamamoto SCS coating on the suit neoprene to reduce frction and the use of Aerodome panels to raise the hip area and improve swim position.
This Speed wetsuit is designed to balance price and performance for entry level triathletes, using 39 cell neoprene with a Yamamoto coating and seamless bonded surface in strategic locations to help reduce friction. Buoyancy is particularly important at this level and the Tri Comp has a balance of thicknesses from front body at 4mm, back and upper leg between 2-4mm and lower leg at 2-3mm. Super stretch panels are used in key areas where flexibility is essential.
This is a basic open water wetsuit for those starting out in triathlons and uses seam-free neoprene laminated with 20% polyester and 80% nylon.
